EMDB Hold/Release Policy

• EMDB strongly encourages depositors to make their data publicly available as soon as possible and not to put their data on hold.


• Maps may be held (before release) no longer than two (2) years and structure factors may be held no longer than two (2) years from the date of publication.


• A one-time extension of up to six (6) months owing to to delay in publication can be requested in writing. In no case will a map be held for longer than two (2) years from the date of deposition.


• Requests to delay release of data (put it on hold) should be submitted at the time of the initial deposition.
